Community Healthcare Fund

Purpose

To strengthen the local healthcare safety net and increase access to appropriate and timely healthcare for the un/under insured of Lane County.

Background

A founding premise of the 100% Access Coalition is the importance of aligning local efforts and resources dedicated to increasing access to healthcare. In the spring of 2005, meetings with local philanthropists explored the opportunity and value of co-investing in safety net and healthcare access projects. PacificSource Charitable Foundation has now contributed $500,000 to help stimulate the formation of the Community Healthcare Fund to be managed by the 100% Access Coalition Executive Committee.

Goals

• Create a tradition of community co-investment in safety net and healthcare access projects.
• Bring a degree of transparency, intentionality and accountability to Lane County healthcare access investments.
• Establish a credible common investment vehicle with shared metrics and reporting requirements.
• Coordinate existing and future healthcare safety net and access donations made by major local healthcare organizations.
• Create a discretionary fund managed by the 100% Access Executive Committee in the context of more transparent local healthcare philanthropy.
• Recognize and publicize the community contributions of the 100% Access partners.
